About Lesly-Jane Edgar

Music has always been a part of my life and I am passionate about it. In my personal experience, it provides an amazing opportunity for children to be uniquely themselves within a collaborative context. The chance to express emotions and personality through music and movement is very valuable, and in Music to Grow classes, it is my fundamental belief that no one gets to be wrong. I have two children and live in a happy, lively household in the North Cotswolds. I am energetic, enthusiastic and love planning and carrying out my classes. I take a pride in the good quality, varied props and instruments that are used.

My music qualifications include Grade 8 recorder, Grade 7 trumpet, Grade 5 piano and theory, ensemble exams, ‘O' and ‘A' level music, as well as over 13 years of experience in orchestras, choirs and performing. I regularly attend courses to enhance my knowledge, which have included “Leading Young Voices”. I have Gymnastics and Ballet Certificates. I have studied Human Nutrition and Understanding Children and have a First Aid Certificate. I am a qualified Gym Instructor and hold a Level 2 Certificate in Heath Based Exercise for Children. I have enhanced Criminal Registration Bureau clearance as well as full insurance. My plan for 2008/2009 is to study for a National Qualification Framework Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice.
